Sameer Sawarkar
CEO

Sameer has been instrumental in sowing the seed for Neurosynaptic and bringing it to its current state. He brings vast technical and management experience to the organization. During 1999-2003, he has handled the position of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Technology Officer at DACS Software. Before that he was with Motorola India Electronics Ltd, where he managed projects in Software Tools and DSP applications.

He is an Ashoka Fellow. His primary work is in the Rural e-Healthcare domain. He also holds several Project Awards, Engineering Awards and Patents, and has many National and International Publications to his credit.

He completed his Post Graduation with distinction from the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He graduated with top ranking in Electronics Engineering from Government College of Engineering, Amravati, Maharashtra.

Rajeev Kumar
COO

Rajeev brings experience in the areas of Digital Signal Processing, Real-time Operating Systems, Protocol Stacks and Software and Architecture tools to the organization. Earlier, he was with ZiLOG, Inc. at Austin, Texas and then relocated to their Bangalore facility, where he managed projects to develop embedded software for their family of micro-controllers and microprocessors. Before that, he was with Motorola India Electronics Ltd., leading teams working on various projects in the areas of Tools, Digital Signal Processing and 3G communication systems. He has received many project awards, including Engineering Excellence Awards, for innovation, and quality of the products as well as their timely delivery to customers. He has published papers at international conferences and conducted DSP related workshops. He completed his post graduation in Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He graduated in Physics from Hindu College, University of Delhi.

Shrikant Shingane

Shrikant has 15+ years of entrepreneurial experience. He was Co-founder and Director (Business) at Mango Technologies – Mobile IP Company. He has also co-founded Poseidon, an ESL product company, ranked among the top most high tech companies in the world.

He is responsible for building relationships with strategic global accounts. Shrikant’s vast experience spans various skills like conceptualizing products, managing different ventures and efficiently handling responsibilities in architecting products and frameworks. With excellent people management skills and a strong understanding of valuing client relationships, he brings powerful business acumen.

An entrepreneur at heart, Shrikant has undertaken various tasks such as amassing multi-million dollar VC funding, defining organization vision and direction, product conceptualization, end-to-end product delivery, creating a market for products and services etc.

His wide experience and insight helps him mentor and advice many start-ups.

Nagaraja Prakasam

Nagaraja (Naga) Prakasam is a versatile and passionate leader with 2+ decades of global experience (decade in the USA and a decade+ in India). As a full time angel investor, invested in 19 start-ups and seen 4 exits. Spearheaded Impact thinking in Indian Angel Network and co-founded IANImpact. His personal mantra is “Start-ups should focus on India’s strength – people, problems, Tech (PPT)”

He believes in hands on approach and travels extensively in rural areas understanding the need first hand. Sought after as thought leader in Impact space and inspired many students as a motivational speaker in number of colleges. Delivered C.K.Prahalad memorial lecture at WorldCoCreationDay. Chaired “Green Revolution 2.0 – Food Security and the role of innovation” at 10th CII Innovation Summit. Spoke at launch of Bank of Innovations and Ideas (BII) by Ministry of Rural Development along with Dr.Abdul Kalam. Awarded “Successful Person 2015” by Sangam4, Chennai. Proud to join CM of Rajasthan, to unveil state startup policy.

Earlier in his career, as President of CDC Software (world’s 12th largest enterprise software company) South & Southeast Asia, managed sales and India Engineering Centre of Excellence. During the 16 years tenure, grew from Systems Engineer to President and involved in growing the company from $50M to $400M with ups and downs. At the age of 35, youngest executive to be given country head responsibilities. Intrapreneurial culture that he inculcated made the company to be shortlisted for prestigious NExT Practices Award for “Promoting Innovation & Entrepreneurship” by NASSCOM.

Currently residing in Bangalore, Naga holds a B.E. degree from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, India and an MBA degree from the San Diego/Kennesaw State University, United States.

Charles-Antoine Janssen
Director

Charles-Antoine Janssen is an impact investor focused on health care access. In 2012, Charles co-founded Kois, a global impact investing firm (blended finance structuring and asset management) active in health care, education/skilling, and living environments. He is a member of the investment committee of two Kois venture capital funds: HealthQuad (India health care delivery and technology innovations) and Tara IV (India health care and social entrepreneurship focus). He serves on the Board of the following private companies: Regency Hospitals, Medikabazaar, THB, Lilac Insights, TC4AI, GoJob, Trusted Family, and Imbra. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Quadria and Lighthouse.

In 2001, Charles joined UCB (a CNS, immunology, and bone R&D-driven biopharma company). Among other responsibilities, he was Head of Global Business Development, General Manager of Austria and India, and managed International Major Markets Operations. He joined the Board of Tubize in 2011, the Board of UCB in 2012, and UCB’s Audit Committee in 2015. Charles worked for Merrill Lynch in London from 1996-2000 where he was Vice President of Equities Research, and then Vice President of New Derivatives, Europe.

Over the years, Charles has volunteered with several nonprofit organizations (UNHCR, MSF) and founded socially driven nonprofit organizations (Toolbox Belgium and Toolbox India). He is a member of the Board of Mind & Life Europe, a nonprofit organization aimed at building bridges between contemplative and contemporary sciences. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Brussels University and completed the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School. Until his 2016 move to India, Charles was Assistant Professor of social entrepreneurship at the Solvay Brussels School of Management and Economics at Brussels University. Charles is a member of Stanford School of Medicine’s Board of Fellows.
