Sanjay Sharma

Dr. Sanjay Sharma, a practicing Podiatric Surgeon (Foot Surgery) in Bangalore specialised in Diabetic Foot Conditions, he has 16plus years of experience in the healthcare management and healthcare technology industry, across various segments including Hospitals & Clinic Chains, AYUSH, Telemedicine (eHealth, mHealth), Population Health Management, Health Care Economics, Public Health and Diabetes Care,.

His present interests are focussed on Telemedicine, eHealth, IoT, Affordable & Connected Medical Wearable Devices, Tech-Enabled Patient Education, Care Management Services, Therapeutic and Diagnostic Devices for Foot Conditions.

After completing his Bachelors, He pursued his Masters in Surgery, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, He completed his training in Podiatry at Banner Hospital, University of Arizona, Tucson. He has also completed an executive management program at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, and MDP programs in Hospital Management from AIIMS – New Delhi and IIM Ahmedabad. Dr. Sharma is the Treasurer of Telemedicine Society of India and Joint Secretary of Indian Podiatry Association. He is presently the founder of 3 companies, namely –  APTA Healthcare Advisers Pvt. Ltd, Yostra Labs Pvt. Ltd and  Vital Sense Pvt. Ltd. He is a Mentor and Investor at PeopleHealth Pvt. Ltd and Mediknit Pvt Ltd. and also the Chief Medical Officer for Noora Health. Previously he has been associated with Healthways Inc., GMR Infrastructure, Ricoh Innovations & Diabetacare.

Dr. Ashwin Naik

Ashwin Naik is a an entrepreneur/advisor with interests in healthcare delivery, social enterprise and tech enabled health startups. Ashwin is the Founder of Vaatsalya Healthcare, an award winning social enterprise, which was the first network of hospitals focused exclusively on Tier II and Tier III towns in India. Vaatsalya has been recognised globally as winner of the Inaugural Porter Prize in India for value based healthcare, the Most Innovative Healthcare Company by VCCircle in 2014 and India’s top 10 innovative companies by Fast Company in 2013 among many other recognitions.

He is also a Resident Fellow and part of the Leadership Group at Ashoka, a pioneering network of social entrepreneurs worldwide. In addition he co-founded & chairs the National Association of Social Enterprises, India. To support health startups, he also leads DisruptHealth a health focussed ecosystem enabler based in Bangalore and is actively involved in the sector as an advisor and angel investor.

Ashwin has been recognized as a Young Global Leader (YGL) 2012 By World Economic Forum, TED India Fellow 2009 and Senior Ashoka Fellow in 2010 amongst other honors.

Ashwin has written and spoken about leadership, entrepreneurship, rural health and social entrepreneurship at various forums around the world, including World Health Congress, NHS Alliance, Ashoka Future Forum, Global Philanthropy Forum, and Africa Health summit (KPMG).

Ashwin has a medical degree from Karnatak Medical College, Hubli and a Masters degree from University of Houston, Texas. Previously, he was the Vice President of Business Development and Informatics at Triesta Sciences, a clinical genomics company. Ashwin has also been part of the historic human and mouse genome sequencing projects at Celera Genomics. He holds three patents with US Patent office for his work at Celera and has contributed a book chapter on Origin of Life.

Prof (Dr). Sripada Venkata Joga Rao

Prof (Dr). Sripada Venkata Joga Rao, a Post-Doctoral Research Scholar in Healthcare Law and Ethics is presently anchoring the professional activities of Legalexcel – a Law Firm of Advocates, Solicitors and Healthcare Consultants. He served as founding Faculty Member for about 15 years in the premier National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. He continues to teach at NLSIU as Visiting Professor.

He is deeply passionate about issues and challenges emanating in the discipline of Healthcare Ethics and Law. He is actively involved in researching Ethical, Policy and Regulatory Challenges and Perspectives focusing on interface of Healthcare Law and Technology in its multi-dimensional perspectives. He is also associated with couple of Hospitals as Chairperson of their respective Institutional Ethics Committees and Member of Competent Authority and Authorization Committee for one Hospital as envisaged under Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues Act.

A prolific author and a seasoned communicator, Dr. Joga Rao, with conviction, participate in dissemination programmes focusing on Healthcare Ethics and Law. He has been conferred globally acclaimed and intellectually coveted Max-Planck Fellowship by Max-Planck Institute, Germany.

Amit Jain has been an avid rural marketer and social entrepreneur with domain experience across Health-care, Water & Sanitation, Livelihood , Agriculture , Nutrition, Education across leading For-Profit , Government , Consultancy & Business Enterprise formats. Amit Jain is currently the Founder and CEO of HealthPoint business model acclaimed internationally and increasingly devotes time to supporting social entrepreneurs and innovators.

K. L. Mukesh

K. L. Mukesh is a Venture Partner with Unitus Ventures and a senior business leader with extensive experience in operations management across global geographies and setting up and scaling of television and healthcare businesses.

Mukesh is a mentor for startups and non-profits, former entrepreneur, manager of large global satellite television (DTH) operations. He managed operations and technology for DIRECTV Latin America, DIRECTV Japan. The operations include customer operations, field operations, loyalty and retention marketing, IT. He also worked on the bankruptcy turnaround of DIRECTV Latin America, merger of DIRECTV Japan with SkyPerfecTV. Subsequently, he was co-founder of Akeso Healthcare – an outpatient facility with a diagnostic lab, treatment room for minor procedures, ultrasound – The business had 49 doctors, 180,000 registered patients. The business got acquired by the Apollo Hospitals group. He was the CEO of Picolabs Division of Biosense. He is currently an advisor for Karmahealthcare (primary healthcare), Arera Technologies (Emergency Medical Response), Gyanpro (science education), Bempu (neonatal care).

Mukesh’s interests lie in improving access and reducing cost of primary healthcare with the help of technology innovations. Mukesh has an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a Masters in Statistics from Indian Statistical Institute.
